Hungry… for the Word!

(note: typed on my iphone so please excuse any typos!)

Happy hump day y’all! (I’ve been “southern-ized” by my husband!) what an AWESOME day, and what an incredible God we serve. A quick update on the little miracle:

We have an appointment at Hope Haven Children’s Clinic and Family Services on Monday afternoon. Hope Haven is this awesome God-given place that helps kids with all kinds of challenges to have success in the classroom, playground and family life. We can’t WAIT! So thankful they squeezed us in so fast. Hod’s movedointains to get us in for appointments that normally take months!

We still do not have results from the remaining 15 blood cells (remember: so far we’re overachieving, and not in a good way, with the chromosome test! Isaiah’s first 5 cells of 20 shipped off for genetic testing ALL had Trisomy 21, and extra 47th chromosome we have named “Chromie”). We ask for continued prayers that many of
his cells will NOT have Chromie, but we know God’s plan is perfect no matter what!

Isaiah loves to walk! Today we had to run our four-legged baby, Hitch, to the bet because God has a great sense of humor so He figured why not? Let’s add on a sick puppy! Haaaaaa! Hitch ran full speed into a pricker bush about a week and a half ago, the day we went into labor, and he got prickers in his face, ears, feet etc. the ones in his sweet soft cuddly ears for infected because we weren’t home to check him. No worries! The staff at Ponte Vedra Animal Hospital are total rock stars and they got him in immediately today and he’s on some meds to clear up the mess! anyhoe, since we were by the beach, we took Carrie, my best friend from college who’s in town helping, for a quick beach stop. Pictures below!! Anyhow, Isaiah loves to be walked. Slept through the whole thing!

God is continuing to change hearts through Isaiah’s story. See the remainder is this blog for details!

Today I received an email from a friend in Vermont I haven’t seen since probably 1997. It read:

Michelle,
I just wanted to let you know that through your posting & seeing your love for Jesus, I became very hungry for the word again!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!? I have spent more time reading my bible and actually started using the book Lord, Teach Me To Study The Bible in 28 days. I can’t stop….. Thank you sooo much!, xoxoxo
Renee in Vermont

What a testimony!!!!! I have received dozens upon dozens of these. And it brings me to tears to think that Jesus loves us enough to use our little boy to touch peoples hearts and bring them closer to our Savior.

I can share with you that the day or day after Isaiah was born, in a very tearful/joyous conversation with one of our very best friends, I told her that if ONE person came to know Jesus through Isaiah’s story, it will have been worth every second. We’ve gotten hundreds and hundreds of messages. We may be in the thousands by now. Several countries. It’s more than we could have ever dreamed.

Here’s my question for you… Pastor Jack asks us this all the time… have you ever been closer to Jesus than you are right NOW?

If so, we are moving backwards. We’ve got to be ever mindful of our “position” in relation to our communion with God. If you’re drifting apart, guess who moved? Lemme give you a hint. It’s not God!

So let me ask you something else. How’s your hunger for the word, as Renee so eloquently put it?

When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty.
– Jeremiah 15:16

We have to be real about where we are in our walk! Let’s help hold each other accountable. I am soooo pumped for my friend. Let’s pray for her especially as she seeks God with her whole heart.

Have a great night, all. More tomorrow!!

God bless,
Michelle
