No limits or conditions – baby Isaiah update

Good morning! It’s a chilly, frigid morning in northeast Florida and we’re posting a quick update on Isaiah.

Today’s a big day for the little guy! We meet with our geneticist, Dr Perszyk, today. He’s a genius. He will be giving us a number. One number I suspect. And as I read today’s Jesus Camling entry, posted and shared by our best friend Meg around 2 am when she was up feeding her 3 month old son, I started to chat with God.

Today’s devotional talks about Finding quiet time with God when life interferes and you get distracted. This admittedly happens to me a lot when I’m in prayer. I’ll be completely focused on my conversation with God, then something earthly will pop in my head (oh my gosh, I forgot I had to do _______, I need to make a mental note to do that” or “wonder if anyone fed Hitch today” or “look how handsome my husband is” – this last one happens a lot when I pray when Paul is around!) and I lose my focus on Him.

Today’s devotional tackles how we can find a quiet space with God, and how it’s ok to be human. But that God will never leave us, never forsake us. He has no limits. He has no conditions. I started thinking about today’s dr appt. we will get a number. But the truth is, we already have the numbers that matter. God is our God 100% of the time. He will NEVER leave us or forsake us never. 0%. He longs for a fellowship with us!! He has us in his heart 100%. He is consumed with us and knows every star in the sky, every single hair on our heads. Again, no limits. No conditions.

So while we continue to pray that Isaiah’s “Chromie” is in the fewest percentage of his blood cells possible, we know God has this. No matter what number Dr P tells us today. God is in 100% control. 100% of the time.

More great news – had a meeting with Dr Bridgham, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, yesterday morning. Isaiah and I walked in there with our hearts full of thankfulness and joy and shared our story with Dr B.  Then  we told
him we’d like the Foundation to take on some serious projects for the hospital, most particularly for the NICU. I shared some of what God has out on our hearts to do (financially and otherwise) through our foundation. We talked through their greatest needs. And I’m thrilled to announce that the Tesori Family Foundation is the newest philanthropic partner of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. We truly couldn’t be more excited!

We will release details of our partnership in the coming days and weeks, and yes, there will be some easy ways you can help! Right now, you can help by visiting mealTrain and perhaps choosing a day to be a blessing to the staff in NICU. That’s a super easy way you can have an immediate impact. All the details are on that page on the far right hand side under “Special Instructions” – you can contribute as much or as little as you’d like! Either way, it will bless some very special people!

Next, we’ll be working on a project to make the NICU a little more comfortable and accommodating for brand new Moms and Dads. We already have 5+ ideas to implement that  we’ll  share  with you  soon! It’s  all very exciting  for us. In  addition,

Isaiah will be participating in many of the ongoing fundraising efforts for Wolfson, begging I believe February 1 at the One Mile To Grow fun run/walk to raise money for families who cannot afford the care their newborn(s) received in NICU or the follow-up care they’ll require after release….If you’re in the Jacksonville area and want to walk/jog with me and Isaiah on Feb 1 for the event while his Daddy heads back out on the road to work in Arizona, message me and we’ll make a Team Isaiah page!

Lastly but certainly not least, we learned this week that one of our dear friends, AS, has been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer. She is young. She is a wife. She is a mother. She is active (there’s got to be a better word for her activity level – saying “active” to describe her a bit of an understatement! She L O V E S the Lord so she knows He has her in his hands. We ask that you please keep her in your prayers and specifically pray God will heal her as we know only He can. We pray for the doctors and nurses who are treating her, and for her family, especially her daughter and her husband, as they walk beside her in this difficult time. AS: Yesterday, you sent me this bible verse: “I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is my right hand, I will NOT be shaken.” Psalm 16:8. We love you. And you’re absolutely right. He IS our right hand. We WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. We love you.
