mealTrain – How does it work?

Wanting to help the Tesoris? You can with mealTrain! You can do this from anywhere, you don’t have to be local. Just read below for how it works then login to the website at http://www.mealtrain.com/?id=mplat9ga241t, create and account and you’re on your way! Days all full? The Tesoris would love it if you would send food to the NICU staff at Wolfson’a Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville to feed the nurses and doctors who are working around the clock to save babies’ lives every day.

Organizer:

Bonnie Upright

Recipient:

Paul and Michelle Tesori

Preferred drop off time:

Between 5 and 6 PM

Special instructions:

If there is no answer at the door (other than a loud greeting from Hitch), please leave the meal in the cooler located by the front door.

Also please be sure that items are in disposable containers if at all possible…it’ll be easier for them if they don’t have to worry about returning dishes or containers. If containers need to be returned, please be sure to label with your name and contact information so a family friend can take care of it for Paul and Michelle.

If you do not live locally but still wish to assist with a meal, there are a couple of options:
A. Please contact Rita Martinez with Off I Go ( a great local concierge service) via 904/502-1307 or [email protected]. For a nominal fee, she can pick up and deliver a meal from a local restaurant of your choosing. Yelp.com is a great help to identify restaurants in the area (just plug in Michelle and Paul’s address in the search box up top, select restaurants or a particular favorite of yours to see what’s nearby. Rita will take great care of you to ensure your meal is delivered on time, on the correct night.

B) Please select a date online that you’d like to provide a meal. Then contact Bonnie Upright at [email protected] to make arrangements for covering a meal via gift card. We’ve got a great network of friends willing to assist as necessary.

Lastly, when delivering, please be sure to include a card or note so they know who the meal is from…it’ll be helpful to keep track of who has sent what, but also lets them know who to ask for recipes. 😉

Number of people eating:

Adults: 2

Favorite meals:

As you know, Michelle and Paul are very healthy eaters, so do keep that in mind as you plan your meal. You can also see on the site what meals are being provided in the days surrounding YOUR chosen day – that will be helpful as you decide what meal to bring. So far they have fallen in love with the homemade foods, and can always go for salads from Panera, salad for Michelle and steak for Paul from the Outback, or things like plank salmon, scallops and tuna rolls from Seasons 52. These are just a few of their favorites.

Meal dislikes/dietary restrictions:

Regarding dietary restrictions, there are none. However, from experience we can tell you the following inside info (*wink):
• they love healthy foods like salads and lean meats/proteins
• they both prefer lower fat, lower carb foods
• not so fond of onions or peppers!
• Paul doesn’t do mustard or cilantro 😉
• neither really drinks carbonated drinks, simple water is perfect
• Paul *may* be (is) obsessed with blue Monsters. Don’t buy too many. We need this new Daddy to sleep!!!!!.

Again, if you choose, Michelle and Paul would love to give several of their meals to the staff at Wolfson’s NICU to help keep their spirits and energy up as they treat the more than 50 other angel babies in their care. Simply send food there or drop off at the NICU registration desk indicating it is for the staff courtesy of you and the Tesoris whose son, Isaiah, is being treated there!
