“Each one must give as he has decided in his own heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
~ 2 Corinthians 9:7
Good morning faithful friends! God has been working overtime in us the past few days – so thankful his grace is abundant and we’re not taking it away from anyone else ‘cuz I promise, we’re like a full time job for God right now! HA!
In His all-consuming presence in our hearts, God has revealed several things to me and Paul. I can’t possibly share them all at once, so we’ll just tackle them one at time. Paul and I were so moved by the staff and the care that Isaiah received at both Baptist Medical Center South and then, once whisked away to Critical Care, at Wolfson Children’s Hospital (both in Jacksonville, FL), that we know God is calling us to do something special for the angels He placed in Isaiah’s path in the past week.
Paul and I have set up a mealTrain to deliver something special to the staff at the Neonative Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Wolfson’s once a week for at least the remainder of the year. mealTrain.com is a super cool, super creative website designed by a fellow UVM (class of ’98!) graduate that enables charitable giving and services (food delivery, dog walking, house care, etc.) and support for a particular person, group or place. In this case, Paul and I, through the Tesori Family Foundation, have set up an opportunity for our Team Isaiah Prayer Warriors to provide breakfast, lunch or sweet treats for the approximately 30 staff people who work each shift (including doctors, nurses, PAs, therapists and receptionists) at Wolfson’s NICU. Once a week, these spectacularly gifted and loving folks will receive a surprise delivery from you, from me, from our #teamIsaiah “family”, to help encourage them during their 12+ hour shifts.
You are welcome to participate at any level you see fit. If God is calling you to go all out and provide lunch for all 30 staff members, GREAT! You can sign up on mealTrain to pick the day you want to do it. If God is calling you to pray for those of us who are able to provide meals, AWESOME! Please do that! If you’re my friend Ashley W., and you feel compelled to bake 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies and have your husband drop them off on his way to/from work one day, GO FOR IT! *wink* The opportunities are endless.
The instructions and details are simple and can be found by clicking here for Operation Feed Wolfson’s. You do NOT have to live locally to participate. If you’re out of town, you can go find details on how you can order from local restaurants directly and have things delivered OR if you prefer to contribute directly to the cause, you can mail a check to our foundation at:
